Voice Instructor

Uma is a singer and voice teacher who moved to the Prescott area at the beginning of 2006 from New York State.

In New York Uma taught voice lessons privatly at a local arts school and at the college level. She sang in local opera companies in Binghamton where she received her Master in Opera working with Tri-Cities Opera and Binhamton University.

Uma also has a bachelors degree in voice from Syracuse University and has sung in various summer opera programs where she performed works from modernn composers as well as a classic repertoire.

She is a lyric mezzo-soprano and has performed roles from operas including Hansel from Hansel and Gretel, Dorabella from Cosi fan tutte, Cherubino from The Marriage of Figaro, 2nd and 3rd lady from The Magic Flute, Mother from Amahl & the Night Visitors, Orfeo from Orfeo & Euridice, Malika from Lakme, and Carmen and Merceded from Carmen.
